Furniture Sales Representative Assistant

PVI Office Furniture is seeking a personable, dependable, and motivated Sales Assistant to join our Frederick, Maryland showroom team. This full-time, in-person position focuses on assisting customers, maintaining the showroom, and supporting sales efforts on the floor. With over 33 years of success in the industry, we are looking for someone eager to help us continue growing and provide excellent service to our customers.
As the first point of contact for many walk-in visitors, the Sales Assistant plays a key role in delivering a welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable experience. You’ll be engaging with customers looking for new and used office furniture solutions, guiding them toward options that fit their needs. For more complex requests, you’ll refer them to one of our Furniture Consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting walk-in customers promptly and provide friendly, attentive assistance
- Engage with customers to help them find new and used furniture available on the showroom floor
- Understand basic product details and pricing to assist in the sales process
- Refer complex or large-scale projects to a Furniture Consultant on staff
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist or route inquiries appropriately
- Follow up with past customers to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities
- Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually appealing for walk-in traffic
- Ensure all items on the floor are properly tagged and presented professionally
- Track how each customer heard about PVI for marketing and lead-tracking purposes
- Share PVI’s social media content on your social platforms to help increase visibility and engagement
- Assist in gathering customer stories, feedback, or photos of their new setups for future marketing use
- Encourage customers to leave reviews and follow PVI on social media platforms
- Help grow our email list by collecting customer emails (with permission) for future follow-up and promotions
What We’re Looking For:
- A confident communicator who is comfortable talking to customers in person and over the phone
- Someone who is enthusiastic, courteous, and genuinely interested in helping others
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and follow through
- A team player who’s ready to jump in and supports wherever needed
- Familiarity with basic computer systems and ability to learn internal tools
- An understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram) and how sharing content can promote visibility
- Prior experience in furniture, customer service, retail, or showroom environments is a plus
- Interest or experience in office furniture or interior solutions is a bonus
Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift with a 1-hour lunch (40 hours/week) with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.
- Salary + commission based on showroom sales
- In-person at our Frederick, MD showroom
